Wow! What a fabulous first term we have had at Violet Way Nursery. All the children have settled in well and have had a wonderful time making new friends, learning the rules and boundaries, and working towards their personal next steps with key workers.

We followed the children's interests through stories like Owl Babies, The Little Red Hen and Stick Man. We extended the children's learning by visiting the Stick Man Trail at the Arboretum, which the children loved. The Colour Monsters story provided opportunities for children to name and talk about their feelings. 

In our amazing woodland area, the children are learning to look after the wildlife, making bird feeders, and beginning to understand seasonal changes. We have also enjoyed bonfires, hot chocolate and marshmallows around the firepit.

At Christmas, we took the children to Bretby Garden Centre to see the reindeer and the Christmas decorations. We ended our term with a pantomime, a party and a visit from Father Christmas himself!

We are so looking forward to our continued learning through exploration and investigation during the Spring Term. I wonder what adventures await us....
