In Our Pride Our Joy nurseries we follow a 'child initiated' curriculum which enables children to follow their own interests and learn through quality play, whilst being supported by qualified and experienced staff. Staff are trained to observe the children and look for 'teachable moments' in which to intervene and support the child to their next steps. 

We have full access to the outdoor areas throughout the sessions and in all weathers, so children can choose their preferred area to learn within a well thought out, enabling environment. 

Parents are kept informed of their child's progress through secure online accounts which they can read, enjoy and add to so that they can play a part in the 'learning journey' their child travels along whilst with us. 

Breakfast club opens at 7:30 am and operates from the school hall.

Parents book places in advance to ensure our adult:child ratios are maintained at all times and qualified staff provide activities for the children to access.

A healthy breakfast choice is provided by the on site catering team.

I am so happy with how my child has settled into nursery. From the very beginning, the support offered to both my child and our family has been amazing, which made what could have been a difficult transition feel smooth and reassuring. The staff are incredibly kind, patient, and attentive, and it's clear how much they genuinely care about the children. The staff always go above and beyond for each child and my daughter comes home telling me everything she has done and how excited she gets when telling me at home! Communication is key, and they use Tapestry for this, but you have to remember your notifications are on. My daughter's confidence has grown so much being at OPOJ Ankermoor.

I can't thank both the staff and manager of the nursery enough for all their help and support. They have truly gone above and beyond for my son in supporting him by settling in to a full-time educational environment and with all the processes and framework surrounding his additional needs. They have never made me feel like it's too much. My son has always struggled in early years settings before but really loves the nursery, so it has definitely been transformative for him. The nursery itself has great activities and resources for all the children and a lovely outdoor space. I'd recommend OPOJ to anyone.

We couldn't be any happier with our little one's experience. From the very beginning, the staff have been very welcoming, caring, and supportive, which made the transition much easier for all of us. It's clear the team genuinely cares about each child's wellbeing and development, and they always go the extra mile to ensure that every child feels safe, happy and included. Our little one loves attending nursery and is always very keen to go into class in the mornings. He has grown so much in confidence, social skills and independence, and we are always impressed by the range of activities and learning opportunities provided. Communication by the staff is excellent, and we feel reassured knowing he is in such capable and nurturing hands. We are truly grateful for all the support and dedication the nursery staff show every day!

Ankermoor Nursery has been amazing for my daughter. She has come on loads since starting, and she absolutely loves going. She loves all the nursery staff, and they have all been amazing with her!
