Our provision at Ankermoor Primary Academy began operating in September 2019 in the school building.

We register children from their second birthday and accept both the thirty hour and fifteen hour funding in addition to paid for sessions.

We have a maximum of 24 children in any given session and operate on a ratio of 1:8. All staff are a minimum of level 3 qualified in early years, and hold a current paediatric first aid certificate.

Autumn 2020

1st October 2020

Wow! What a term we are having already. All children have settled really well and are thoroughly enjoying their journey in nursery. Within our very own Covid bubble children are making their own friendships and their confidence is blossoming. The children have really enjoyed exploring their outdoor and indoor setting and we have also had a trip down to the big playground collecting acorns. Our learning involves lots of natural resources to help develop conversation interests and imagination. We hope you are all able to access Tapestry and see your child's journey so far. We look forward to continuing our adventure with the children and getting to know them more.

Stay and Play

10th March 2020

Today the children welcomed their families into nursery to experience a stay and play craft morning.

During the morning children had lots of enriched activities indoors and outdoors to complete with their families, and opportunities to showcase their learning. We had a variety of craft activities across the nursery including decorating biscuits, painting and making a flower from various materials. Thank you to all the parents who joined us to experience what it is like for their child at nursery.

Nursery Information

In Our Pride Our Joy nurseries we follow a 'child initiated' curriculum which enables children to follow their own interests and learn through quality play, whilst being supported by qualified and experienced staff. Staff are trained to observe the children and look for 'teachable moments' in which to intervene and support the child to their next steps.

We have full access to the outdoor areas throughout the sessions and in all weathers, so children can choose their preferred area to learn within a well thought out, enabling environment.

Parents are kept informed of their child's progress through secure online accounts which they can read, enjoy and add to so that they can play a part in the 'learning journey' their child travels along whilst with us.

Breakfast Club

Breakfast club opens at 7:20 am and operates from the school hall.

Parents book places in advance to ensure our adult:child ratios are maintained at all times and qualified staff provide activities for the children to access.

A healthy breakfast choice is provided by the on site catering team.

"Since joining the Nursery, Frankie has developed in so many ways. He is more confident and balanced and looks forward to going into nursery everyday. All the teachers provide a warm friendly positive environment. Highly recommend."

When sending our daughter to a Nursery we didn’t quite expect to receive so much support. We can’t thank the nursery and teachers enough. They’ve brought out a completely different side to Ella and Mrs James has supported us through every step of the way within the nursery and home life.
She’s come on by leaps and bounds.
We can’t wait for her brother to start! Thank you all!

- Karl & Kizzy

"The nursery is fab my son loves it here and learns something new each day and has made lots of friends and he loves his teachers Mrs James, Miss Hopkins and Miss Taft. I like that he has something different each day. If there is something I think Harry needs help with or struggles with his teachers give him 100% help. I would recommend the nursery to anyone and my friends that are looking for a nursery/school for there child as my son Harry has come on leaps and bounds since starting here. He is confident more in himself and everything that he does. Also you start in the nursery and can stay there all through the child’s school life until high school.
Thank you to all at the nursery."
